I can bear almost anything,
the withering of beans,
flowers dying,
fields with uprooted potatoes,
I watch those with dry eyes,
I am truly ruthless in that.
But young lettuce in September,
just planted, still weak,
in damp little plots, no.
With the permission of poet Rutger Kopland, Jonge Sla uses the title of his poem. Jonge Sla characterises itself by inspiration and persistence to work towards a better world. Some people make a lot of noise about creating a better world. But others believe this message can be relayed with a whisper, reaching hearts like a breath of fresh air. Jonge Sla aims to do just that.
